Top Tips For Moving House In A Hurry
It’s not always easy or even possible to prepare for your house move months in advance. Sometimes you can be faced with difficult problems which mean that you have to move into a new property very suddenly and unexpectedly. If this happens to you then don’t panic – it’s possible to still move efficiently and quickly even in a short time limit. Here’s how to do it! 1)    Finding a removal company. The first step for you if you’re moving in a hurry is to find a removal company. Professional movers will be able to help you with lifting, loading and some companies can even provide you with the packing materials that you need. Unfortunately, lots of companies get booked up months in advance, which can make it difficult to find what you’re looking for. Try a local man with a van or try looking online for companies with available time slots but that are going to be professional. Always read customer reviews to ensure you’re getting the most for your money! 2)    Packing.Packing is potentially one of the longest parts of moving house. You’re going to need to make sure that everything is packed up and ready to go on moving day. Start by working through each room of your house individually and try to enlist the help of friends and family if you can! Label all of your boxes and make sure that they’re numbered in terms of importance. This can make your unpacking process much more quick and efficient. 3)    Cutting corners with packing materials. You’re going to need a lot of packing materials if you’re moving house. Boxes, bags, packing tape, marker pens, sticky labels, foam packing peanuts, bubble-wrap and even newspaper are all items that you should have for your move, but if you don’t have the time to source all of these then don’t panic! Suitcases and bags that can be properly sealed make great alternatives for all of your soft furnishing and clothes. If you own your own furniture then why not pack the drawers full, remove them and use a plastic wrap to seal them? This is a great way to create small storage boxes and this can be especially useful for things such as cutlery. Use duvet covers as large storage bags for towels, clothes and other items that you won’t mind getting creased, while your under-the-bed storage boxes are excellent for moving DVDs, books and other heavy items. Make sure you use packing tape to ensure that all of your storage boxes are properly sealed so that they aren’t going to open in transit! Don’t forget to raid your home for boxes that you might already have. Original packaging for your electrical equipment is excellent to use, but just make sure all second-hand boxes are reinforced with packing tape to keep them strong and sturdy! 4)    Cleaning your home. Before you leave your property you need to make sure it’s clean. Speak to your landlord to see what they expect and set aside a few hours to complete this. Everything should be vacuumed, dusted and sanitised. Don’t forget to clean the inside of your oven and any other places that might be concealed or forgotten about! If your home isn’t left in a good and clean condition then you could lose some of even all of your deposit, so take the time to do this!
